Pumice stone is used in our denim industry from a long period of time to get abrasion effect on denim fabric. Although it has been the best solution to obtain the abrasion effect there several disadvantages of using stones. You have to unload the batch for stone removing which is labor involved much time consuming process. Operator has to check garments one by one in order to make sure there are no stones remain inside pockets which can ultimately damage the garment in later processes. Dumping used stones is another environmental concern which needs proper landfill measures. Keeping stocks of stones needs additional burden for the factories which occupies valuable land spaces.
