ভাবানুবাদ- দক্ষিনসমীর

কাজ নেই তোর দ্বারে দ্বারে গিয়ে
ভালোবাসা কে খুঁজতে;
বরং ভাঙ্গ সে দেয়াল,- যারে দিয়ে তুই
চেয়েছিলি তারে রুখতে ।।
“Your task is not to seek for love,
but merely to seek and find
all the barriers within yourself
that you have built against it.”

দেখবে যেখানে ধ্বংসাবশেষ-
অর্থের আশা সেখানে অশেষ ।।
“Where there is ruin,
there is hope for a treasure.”

পাখির মতই মধুর কন্ঠে গাইতে আমি চাই,
পরওয়া করিনা সে সব কেহ শুনছে, অথবা নাই ।।
“I want to sing like the birds sing,
not worrying about who hears
or what they think.”

নিশ্চুপতাই ঈশ্বর-ভাষা, তাতে নেই কোন খাদ,
আর যা কিছু, সব জেনো তার দুর্বল অনুবাদ ।।
“silence is the language of god,
all else is poor translation.”

যেই মুহূর্তে জানলাম মোর
প্রথম প্রেমের রূপকথা,
মিলনের তরে খুঁজেছি তোমায়-
হায়রে, আমার অন্ধতা !
প্রেমিকদের কি মিলতে হয়
বাইরে কোথায় চলে গিয়ে ?
সারাক্ষনই তো রয়েছেন তারা
দু’জনের সাথে দোহারে নিয়ে ।

how blind that was.
Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
They’re in each other all along.”

প্রতি ঘর্ষণে কাতর যদি
উত্তেজনা আসে তোমার;
কি করে ওই মনের আয়না
করবে তুমি পরিস্কার।
“If you are irritated by every rub,
how will your mirror be polished?”
― Rumi

হতাশ হয়ো তুমি কখনও
যদি বা কিছু হারায়,
পাবে তুমি তারে নিশ্চয়ই জেন,
নবরূপে পুনরায় ।।
“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose
comes round in another form.”
― Rumi

কারে খোঁজ তুমি, -সেই তো তোমার খোঁজে !
“What you seek is seeking you.”

ক্ষুদ্রতা নিয়ে সবার মাঝে
বেঁচে থাকা আর নয় ।
তোমার মাঝেই বিশ্বভুবন,
আনন্দ গতিময় ।।
“Stop acting so small.
You are the universe in ecstatic motion.”

নৃত্য কর যখন তুমি হতাশার অনুবৃত্তে
নৃত্য কর বাঁধন তুমি ভেঙেছ যে মুহূর্তে
নৃত্য কর যুদ্ধের মাঝে ,নাচাও তোমার রক্ত
নৃত্য কর যখন তুমি সত্যিই উন্মুক্ত
“Dance, when you’re broken open.
Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance when you’re perfectly free.”

জন্মেছ তুমি উড়বার ডানা নিয়ে।
তবে চলছ কেন হামাগুড়ি দিয়ে দিয়ে ?
“You were born with wings,
why prefer to crawl through life?”

যখন তুমি ছিলে সাথে, রাত ছিল নির্ঘুম,
চলে যখন গেলে তুমি, তখনও নেই ঘুম।
দুইই অনিদ্রা,তবু প্রশংসা বিধাতার,
বুঝিয়েছ মোরে -দু’য়ের মাঝের তফাৎটি বুঝবার ।
“When I am with you, we stay up all night.
When you’re not here, I can’t go to sleep.
Praise God for those two insomnias!
And the difference between them.”

যেখানে তোমার হয়েছে ক্ষত,
আলো ঢোকবার সেই তো পথ ।।
“The wound is the place
where the Light enters you.”

আমরা যেন বাঁশী সবাই
সুরটি শুধু তোমার,
সবাই যেন পাহাড়,তুমি
প্রতিধ্বনি সবার ।
We are as the flute
And the music in us is from thee
We are as the mountain
And the echo in us is from thee.

গতকালও ছিলাম চালাক
পৃথিবী বদল চেয়েছি
আজকে আমি হয়েছি জ্ঞানী
তাই নিজেকে বদল করেছি।।
“Yesterday I was clever,
so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise,
so I am changing myself.”
